INGREDIENTS:

It reduces cholesterol, cleans congestion and helps improve immunity. It is also an excellent source of Vitamin C and A. Black Gram, It is a rich source of proteins, iron and Vitamin B. It is also an energy booster and has anti-aging and anti-inflammatory properties. Cardamom, Clove, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Jaikai, commonly known as “” cures insomnia, lowers blood pressure, dissolves kidney stones and improves digestion. Kapok Buds, Marata Moggu known as Kapok pods are good for general health. Curry Leaves Powder. Fights infection, improves hair and skin and helps in gastrointestinal problems.

COOKING DIRECTIONS (25GMS Packet serves 4)

■ In a Pressure Cooker: Soak 1 cup of rice, ½ cup tur dal, 8 cups water for an hour.
Add ¼ tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp oil, 2 tsp jaggery powder, 2 tomatoes, 2 cups mixed veggies and salt to taste. Pressure cook for 5 whistles. 

■ Open once pressure is released add ½ cup tamarind puree (to taste), a sachet of Udupi Kitchen BBB powder. Cook for about 10 minutes.

■ Season with 1/4 cup roasted chopped cashews and temper with 1 Tbsp. ghee, ¼ tsp mustard seeds, 3 green chilli rings, 1 red chilli, 15 curry leaves, 1 finely chopped onion (optional).

Suggested garnishing

Temper with ghee and roasted cashew. Garnish with coriander leaves and khaara boondi.

Serving Tip

Serve hot with potato chips and onion raita.
