It is an excellent source of iron for energy and is good for immune function. Fenugreek Powder, Helps in regulating blood sugar and also reduces cholesterol. Curry Leaves Powder, Fights infection improves hair and skin and helps in gastrointestinal problems. Asafetida. The anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties alleviate digestive problems.

COOKING DIRECTIONS (25gms packet serves 4)

 ■ Heat 2 cups of water with 1 tsp oil, ¼ tsp turmeric powder, 4 tsp jaggery powder, ½ cup tamarind puree (to taste), curry leaves and salt to taste. Boil for 3 minutes.

■ Add 2 chopped tomatoes, 2 slit green chillies and 6 cups of watery cooked tur dal. Boil on a medium flame.

■ Add a sachet of Udupi Kitchen Rasam powder and some chopped coriander leaves. Boil for a minute and turn off.

  • Udupi Kitchen’s pudis with their homemade flavors are perfect for me. I have been using their various rasam pudis as well, and the flavors are wholesome, with some healthy variations like flaxseed. I look forward to trying some of their other products as well. When you are making sambhar at home and your neighbor Whatsapp’s you asking, “What’s cooking? The smells from your kitchen are mouth-watering.” – that’s the testimony to good flavors. We were making rasam using the Udupi Kitchen’s rasam pudi.
